Lucy is 6!

Hey guys! Guess what?! I'm 6!! My human says my birthday is October 22nd. So guess what we did on my birthday?!
Nothing!
Can you believe that?! My humans forgot my birthday!! They left me at the house and spent the whole day with their human niños and didn't even tell me "Happy Birthday"! But I did get a good day of napping in, and dreamed about my birthday party last year with all my human niño friends in Costa Rica. I miss sure do miss them.
We had some fun times playing together!
I was kinda sad at first because I thought my humans weren't going to do anything at all for my birthday. Then last night my human put me in something called a "costume".
My human said it was a "Tigger costume".
I wasn't sure what was going on, but I had seen a lot of people walk past my window. We left the house and there was a PARTY going on! Just for ME! And everybody was there! The whole neighborhood! There were human niños everywhere (I was pretty sure they all needed to pet me), and they were all wearing costumes just like me.

It was my very first costume birthday party! It was great! And 3 of my human niño friends that I first met in Costa Rica were there too!
We had so much fun! I think this turned out to be a pretty good birthday party!
So of course I had to give kisses and thank my human for my very special birthday party!
All that partyin sure does wear a girl out though!
You know, I thought my humans had forgotten all about me and that they didn't even care about my birthday. Then I got the biggest party ever! I had forgotten how much my humans love me even though they show it to me everyday.
Sometimes we think God forgets about us, but maybe we've forgotten how much He loves us! And He shows us His love for us everyday!
So how have you seen God show you His love for you lately?

The Adventures of Lucy and Dutchess

Hey guys! I know you haven't heard from me in a while. I've been catching up on my beauty sleep, when I'm not guarding the house!
We live in a 3rd world country (which means that the people who live here are really poor) and some times they do bad things (like steal) because they're so hungry and just want food. But we'll have to talk about that later because I have some really exciting news!!
I have a new friend! Her name is Dutchess!
Her humans are the Stewarts. I met them when we were living in Costa Rica. They are missionaries here with my humans and they have 3 human niños! I was so excited to see them again!
One of them was napping when I came over to play, so I didn't get to play with him this time. But Dutchess was ready to play!

After a while, I needed a break! Whew! Those puppies just love to play! And have so much energy!
Good thing her human niños were there to play with her when I got tired!

Then she wanted to play some more!

Finally, I think, she got tired. So then my human took to me home. I had a great time playing with all my friends and making a new friend!
Good friends are so important to have, especially when you live so far from home! I'm glad I have friends here and my humans have friends too!
I need to get back to guard duty! ttyl! love, Lucy

All About a Dog's Life, or is it?

Hey guys! Just thought I'd let you know what I've been up to lately......which isn't much.
Humans call it a "dog's life".......I'm not so sure what they mean by that.....you see, I got on my computer (the one I share with my human) and found all these pictures of dogs (dogs that live here in Honduras). Some of them were sleeping....
It didn't look very comfy....
or safe......(I hope his friend tells him it's not a good idea to sleep in the road).
Some of the dogs were riding in the back of trucks.
Personally, I'd rather ride inside the car......too much wind! And it smells really good when my humans take me to pick up pizza!!
And some dogs were walking.
Some were waiting to cross the road, which is always a good idea! Especially in Honduras!
Some just walked beside the road.
Others made a mad dash to cross the road!
Some of the dogs look scared or shy....
Some of them look really really skinny.....
My human says that sometimes looking at these other dogs makes her sad. She says it's because when she looks at them she see me.
Do you see it?

My human says that when God looks at us He sees His Son. His Hijo (hijo means son in Spanish). So when we are sad, or hungry or hurting, it makes Him sad too. My human doesn't like it when I'm hurt or sad, and she doesn't like it when the other doggies hurt or are sad either, because they remind her of me.
God wants us to tell Him when we're sad or hurting so He can comfort us. Just like my human does for me! Because He loves us, and if we are His, then when He looks into our eyes He sees His Son. Jesus.

Show Them Love

Hey guys! We have been so busy.....well my humans have been busy. I've been taking a lot of naps. Naps are my favorite (and playing with my tennis ball).

My humans say that they go to school every day. Like they did in Costa Rica. But when they come home they smell funny! Like they've been with a bunch of niños all day! I tried to sneak in the car and go with them, but they wouldn't let me....
you mean I don't get to go too??
I still haven't gotten to play with any niños yet......but I did make several new friends! Not only have I made several new human friends here, but I also have a new friend that's a dog! She's great! She let us stay at her house with her humans while we were looking for our own house.
I've learned that there are a lot of dogs here in this country. They are everywhere!
My humans say there are some at the school they go to and that's why I can't go with them.
My humans told me that most of these dogs that live here (in Honduras) don't have a real home. Not like mine. I have my nice big comfy bed (that I share with my humans), and a comfy couch with pillows that I can sleep on too. I have a food bowl and water bowl that never get empty (at least not for long!) I have humans that love on me, play with me and take me for walks......and sometimes I even get salmon treats!!
The dogs here just run around wherever they want.
They have to look in the trash for their food.
Or hope that maybe some nice human will give them something.....
It just reminds me how lucky I am. Even when my humans forget me at home. Or forget to leave the fan on for me on a hot day.
Or give me an oatmeal bath because I'm itchy.
I am so blessed! I am so blessed to have humans that love me and take care of me. Just like how God takes care of all of us. He lets people like my humans show other humans that God still loves them. It doesn't matter if they don't have a home, or eat out of trashcans, or even if they're dirty. God loves us all the same.
So how are you going to show someone that God loves them today?

What's a "Honduras"? Part 2

Hey guys! I know I haven't written you in a long time, but I've been busy!
Chasing my tennis ball.
Resting from chasing my tennis ball.
Then we got on another plane. When we got on the plane it was soooo cold! But when we got off the second plane it was so hot! I like the hot better!
Something about traveling in these planes makes me so sleepy......
There were all kinds of new interesting smells in this hot place. Some were like Costa Rica but some were different. My humans said that this was Honduras.
After we got to Honduras (which I have learned is a really big place!) we had to find a house. So of course, I helped my humans check them all out and pick out the best one with a good yard for me!!

Then we had to go shopping for stuff for our new home! We had to buy everything!!! My humans are the best, they even bought me a great big bed to sleep on! Because they were so nice to get me this bed I've decided to share it with them!
Then I had to help my humans find a car! In Costa Rica we could walk everywhere, but my humans say that Honduras isn't that safe and so we have to have a car so that we can drive everywhere.
Once we found a car, we drove it home!
Just remembering all this busyness is making me tired! One of my humans got a comfy pillow for his birthday.....I think I better go try it out! love ya, Lucy
